Sandra Lee is a bestselling author, award-winning television personality, lifestyle expert, and celebrity chef speaker. Chef Sandra Lee got her start after creating a product called Sandra Lee Kraft Kurtains which she sold on infomercials and home shopping networks. Lee’s television career began soon after when QVC offered her a position selling products on camera. The successful businesswoman and on-air talent sold over $20 million worth of products during her 18 months at QVC.
Chef Lee went on to host her first television show on Food Network called Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee. Six years later came her second series, Sandra’s Money Saving Meals and in 2012 she won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle/Culinary Host for Semi-Homemade Cooking. That same year, Sandra started two new series, Sandra’s Restaurant Remakes which airs on Food Network and follows the chef across the country tasting famous dishes, and her second series, Sandra Lee’s Taverns, Lounges & Clubs on the Cooking Channel where she shows viewers America’s trendiest bars with the most unique cocktails which gives her the background as a celebrity chef speaker.
Lee has been compared to legendary celebrity chef Julia Child for her effect on television cooking and the success she has gained for herself and for the networks that produce her shows. Sandra has also made appearances on programs such as Good Morning America, the Today Show, Fox News Channel, The View and Ellen Degeneres show.
Sandra Lee has written twenty five cookbooks in her career, ranging from a Bake Sale Cookbook, to Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade Cocktail Time which contains 218 cocktail recipes and even a cookbook for children called Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade Cool Kids’ Cooking. She is a New York Times Bestselling Author for her first cookbook, Semi-Homemade Cooking, which continues to be a national best seller today. She also has her own magazine called Sandra Lee, a monthly publication which provides recipes, ideas for entertaining and decorating for special occasions and holidays, and offers tips and tricks for how to make it all affordable. In May 2015, Sandra revealed her breast cancer diagnosis to Good Morning America , Sandra vowed to share her story to help raise awareness for early detection.
