Sir Richard Branson

Business speaker Sir Richard Branson is a business tycoon best known for Virgin Group of over 250 companies and has been knighted by the Queen. His companies range from gyms, gambling houses and bridal boutiques to fleet of planes, trains and limousines. Even owning his own island! Now, his concentration is on space traveling; Virgin Galactic’s Philippe Starck-designed, the first Burt Rutan-engineered spacecraft, The Enterprise. It accomplished its first captive carry in 2010 and is set to start carrying passengers into space in 2012, for $200,000 a ticket.

Richard has made many attempts to break the world record for the fastest attempt across the Atlantic Ocean. His first attempt was in the “Virgin Atlantic Challenger” but it capsized in British waters, in 1986 Richard and and sailing expert Daniel McCarthy beat the record by two hours in the “Virgin Atlantic Challenger II.” He has made guest appearances in Friends, Baywatch, Birds of a Feather, Only Fools and Horses, The Day Today, and Goodness Gracious Me.

As a philanthropist, Richard Branson has pledged in the next 10 years of profits from his transportation kingdom to develop renewable alternatives to carbon fuels. Along with these alternatives, he has offered $25 million prize to the first person who designs an economically viable solution to the greenhouse gas problem; called the Virgin Earth Challenge. Richard Branson is a highly sought after speaker, and is available for speaking engagements, personal appearances and public events.
