Jennifer Lopez, better known as “J. Lo,” is one of America’s top pop artists who made her mark in the both the music industry and the film industry. She came to prominence after the release of her debut album, On the 6, featuring her number one hit single “If You Had My Love.” Her second album, J. Lo, hit number one of the Billboard 200 after selling over eight million copies worldwide. This album hit the charts the same week her movie, The Wedding Planner, led the Box Office charts.

J. Lo’s acting career began after appearance on In Living Color, and she gained recognition after her role in the 1995 thriller Money Train and her leading spot in 1997’s film Selena. She appeared in a number of films in subsequent years, including Maid in Manhattan, Monster-in-Law and The Back-up Plan.

On top of her 6 English albums, J. Lo released her first full Spanish album, Como ama una Mujer, in 2007. Her career in the music industry has won her five number-one singles in the U.S., two Grammy Award nominations, two Latin Grammy Award nominations and three American Music Awards. She has amassed over 55 million record sales worldwide. Billboard has recognized her as the 27^th Artist of the 2000s decade. In 2010, Lopez became a member of the judge panel for FOX’s reality television competition, American Idol.
