Political Speaker and 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush served as the forty-sixth Governor of Texas before becoming our nation’s president. His father, George H. W. Bush was the forty-first president which made this father-son duo the second pair of father and son to be president of the United States. Now his younger brother, Jeb Bush, looks to become the third Bush to become the president of the United States.

George W. Bush began his business career in the oil business and soon married Laura Welch in 1977. He went on to co-own the Texas Rangers baseball team before defeating Ann Richards in the 1994 Texas gubernatorial election. After defeating Vice President Al Gore in the 2000 election, George W. Bush ran for re-election against Democratic Senator John Kerry in 2004. Since George left office, he returned to Texas and is a frequent public speaker and author of Decision Points. George W.
