George Lucas

Celebrity Speaker, film producer, screenwriter, director and entrepreneur George Lucas is best known as the creator of the space opera franchise Star Wars and the character Indiana Jones. He is one of the most financially successful directors/producers and co-founded the studio American Zoetrope. In 1971, George founded the production company Lucasfilm, which is known for its production of Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. In 2012, Disney purchased Lucasfilm from George for an estimated $4 billion.

In 1991, The George Lucas Educational Foundation was founded as a nonprofit foundation to celebrate and encourage innovation in schools. He was awarded the Life Achievement Award in 2005 and was named among the 100 Greatest Americans by the Discovery Channel. George Lucas was nominated for four Academy Awards for Best Directing and Writing for American Graffiti, and Best Directing and Writing for Star Wars. He has given $1 million to help build the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial. George Lucas is available for speaking engagements, public service announcements, and personal appearances.
