Chris Anderson

Social Media Speaker Chris Anderson is the co-founder of 3D Robotics, an author, former editor of WIRED, and an expert of up-and-coming technologies and the cultures that encircle them. 3D Robotics is a company that produces commercial and recreational unmanned aerial vehicles. Before his stint at WIRED, he spent seven years at The Economist, where he worked as editor of both the technology and business categories. Chris Anderson holds a degree in physics and has supervised research at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, and has worked at the leading journals Nature and Science.

Chris Anderson is famous for formulating the term, “the long tail,” which characterizes the business strategy of pursuing many little fish versus a few big fish. Where he first introduced the term was in an article written for WIRED in 2004. The book length version, The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More, became a bestseller. He has also written two other books, Free (2009) and Makers (2012). Chris Anderson is also well known for his blog, The Long Tail. Chris Anderson is available for speaking engagements, personal appearances and endorsements.
