Motivational speaker Blake Mycoskie is the founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOMS, and is behind the grown One for One movement. In 2011, Blake Mycoskie released a book titled, Start Something That Matters. For each copy of his book that was sold, the motivational speaker has provided a children’s book to a child in need. Since 2006, TOMS has given over 35 million pairs of new shoes to those in need around the world. In 2007 only a year after beginning the company, TOMS was honored with the prestigious People’s Design Award from the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution. Blake Mycoskie and TOMS were also awarded the Secretary of State’s 2009 Award for Corporate Excellence, presented by Secretary Hilary Clinton. He was named to Fortune Magazine’s “40 Under 40” in 2011, and was awarded the Next Generation Award at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2015.

Blake is highly sought-after for speaking engagements at campuses and conferences all over the country. He is very passionate when it comes to inspiring the youth to empower them to include giving in everything they do in their daily lives.

His vision of a company like TOMS came to vision when in 2006 he saw firsthand the hardships facing children growing up barefoot in Argentina. The following year, he returned with 10,000 new pairs of shoes, with family and friends hand placing shoes on the children. Since then, TOMS has launched campaigns for eyesight, drinking water access, safe births, and bullying awareness and prevention. Millions of people around the world have been aided and assisted by TOMS and the company continues to strive to give back to those in need.

Blake Mycoskie had five businesses before he started TOMS, including a successful national campus laundry service and was a competitor on the Amazing Race with his sister.
