Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah is highly recognized today as an accomplished actress, singer, rapper, and activist. Throughout her two-decade-and-still-going presence, Latifah has earned a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Image Award, Grammy award, Emmy Award nomination and Academy Award nomination. Queen Latifah’s most recent work include her starring title role in the HBO film Bessie. For her work, Latifah was nominated for a Critics Choice award for best actress in a movie or limited miniseries. She also made an appearance in the 2014 film, 22 Jump Street alongside Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.

Rapping and beat boxing in the late 1980s, Queen Latifah was signed to Tommy Boy Music and has never looked back. She has produced over four hip-hop albums and was one of the few recognized females in the early hip-hop era. In the new millennium she traded raps for songs and transitioned herself to a jazz and soul artist. In 2007 she collaborate with renowned artists like Erykah Badu and Stevie Wonder to produce her album that was nominated for a Grammy award.

In addition to her music career, Queen Latifah is also an accomplished actress, having appeared in television shows like Living Single and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. From 1999-2001 Latifah hosted her own talk show called “The Queen Latifah Show.” The show was revamped in 2013 and ran for two seasons until it ultimately concluded in 2015. Her role in the Oscar-winning film Chicago as “Mama” Morton earned her an Academy Award nomination as well as on-screen credibility. Following up her Chicago success, Queen Latifah sang, danced, and acted in the hit film Hairspray, and nabbed a Golden Globe Award and Emmy nomination for her role as an HIV-positive woman in Life Support. Her star can be found on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Queen Latifah is available for product endorsement, guest appearances, and infomercials.
