Sports speaker Lawrence Taylor, 10x Pro Bowl Linebacker for the New York Giants and NFL Hall of Famer, is widely known as one of the greatest and intimidating players to ever grace the gridiron. His defensive game is acclaimed by fans, players, and coaches alike, and his countless awards and records making him one of the biggest names in sports history.
After an All-American career at the University of North Carolina, Taylor would continue his already storied career with the famous New York Football Giants after being drafted second in 1981. Taylor’s impact was immediately felt as he started piling up awards after just his first season. Taylor changed the face of the NFL within his first few years, due to his unstoppable and tenacious approach to the game. It’s no surprise Lawrence Taylor is a first ballot Hall of Famer, as his resume boasts 10 Pro Bowl selections, 9 First Team All-Pro selections, an MVP award, and 3 Defensive Player of the Year Awards. Taylor also lead the Giants to 2 Super Bowl Victories, behind his overpowering defensive prowess, in both 1986, and 1991.
Taylor’s legacy as one of the greatest players in NFL History is cemented by his enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999, his spot on the NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team and 1980s All-Decade Team, and his jersey number retired in the rafters at Giants Stadium and place in the New York Giants Ring of Honor.
Taylor’s polarizing career off the field is perhaps just as storied as his career on the field. In his last year in the pros, Taylor started his own company All-Pro Products. The company was short-lived, however, and Taylor moved towards focusing on a broadcasting career. He’s worked on networks such as TNT and FX on football and wrestling shows, and has remained in the public eye appearing in popular tv shows and movies such as The Sopranos and The Waterboy and competing on Dancing With the Stars. Taylor wrote an autobiography in 2004, LT: Over the Edge, writing about some of his more vulnerable days as an NFL party boy, and his transformation to the person he is today.
Sports speaker for hire Larence Taylor also cofounded eXfuze, a network marketing company, and has been a spokesperson for a flagship drink company Seven+ alongside other former NFL stars Eric Dickerson and Seth Joyner.
