American pop-singer Lady Gaga is not one to blend in with a crowd and could arguably be considered the largest pop-star in the world today. The flamboyant artist is well-known for her stunning and unique fashion sense aside from her largely popular hit songs including Poker Face, Born This Way, and Applause to name just a few. Her musical influences draw from multiple genres and include Madonna, Freddie mercury of Queen, and David Bowie.

Celebrity Speaker Lady Gaga is a New York native whose background in theater and piano helped her to become such the incredible live performer she is today and her stage name Lady Gaga is derived from the Queen song Radio Ga-Ga. She recorded her debut album The Fame with Interscope Records in 2008 after being discovered by Akon, and helping to write several songs for other Interscope artists such as Britney Spears and The Pussycat Dolls. Her other albums The Fame Monster EP, Born This Way, and her latest Artpop are huge hits and have earned Lady Gaga 5 Grammy Awards and 13 MTV VMA awards.

Her fashion sense continues to keep the public abuzz with every new awards show and appearance in which she pulls out her latest outfit. She was recently named the face of Versace’s 2014 spring and summer advertising campaign. Lady Gaga has also played multiple roles and made cameo appearances in films and TV shows over her short but now solidified career in entertainment. She has appeared on Saturday Night Live several times amongst cameos for The Simpsons, Gossip Girl and her own concert DVD and HBO special that earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Special. Lady Gaga uses her position as a famous pop-star as a platform to advocate for LGBT rights. Her Born This Way Foundation created in 2012 focuses on youth empowerment and helping with children’s issues such as self-confidence, courage, and bullying.
