Former cornerback and coach turned Sports Speaker Don Shula is best known for his coaching career at the Miami Dolphins, where he led them to two Super Bowl victories and the only NFL’s perfect season.
Throughout his 33 seasons as head coach, he is the All-Time leader in wins with 347, first in most coached games at 526, most successive seasons coached with 33, and most Super Bowl losses (4). Don’s teams won a total of 7 NFL conference titles and had a winning record against every coach he ever faced with an exception of Marv Levy. On January 31, 2010 a statue in his honor was unveiled at the Sun Life Stadium.
Sports Speaker Don Shula also has a chain of steak houses all around the United States and has co-authored three books. Don began the Don Shula Foundation in honor of his first wife’s unfortunate death from breast cancer. In 2011, Don received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in recognition of his humanitarian efforts. Don is available for speaking engagements, personal appearances and fundraisers.
