Olympic Speaker Bode’s no holds barred, aggressive style of skiing has lead him to win 6 Olympic medals in 5 different disciplines of alpine skiing. His latest medal came in the Super-G event at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. At these Olympic Games he secured a bronze medal behind silver medalist and teammate Andrew Weibrecht.
Olympic Speaker Bode made his Olympic debut at the 2002 Winter Olympics, where he captured 2 silver medals in the Combined and Giant Slalom events. He secured his first overall World Cup title in 2005 and 2 more gold medals at the World Championships.
As a testament to Bode’s fearlessness and reckless abandon on the slopes, he lost a ski just seconds into the downhill portion of the Combined event in the 2005 World Championships. He nearly skied down the whole course on one ski before sliding out near the end of the course. With his Olympic triumphs and 78 World Cup podium appearances, Bode retired in 2017 and the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame inducted him in 2018. Miller has attracted endorsement deals with many huge companies in the industry including Nike, Head, and Atomic. Olympic Speaker Bode also published a memoir in 2005 titled Bode: Go Fast, Be Good, Have Fun. The memoir reflects on his life and what has driven him to be the competitor he is today.
