The grandson of media baron William Randolph Hearst, the man known for his creation of ‘yellow journalism’ is Business Speaker Austin Hearst. He is the younger brother of venture capital investor William Randolph Hearst III, Austin is a TV and film producer. His most recent project The Vow, a romantic drama starring Rachel McAdams, released February 2012.
Austin’s past work includes TV cartoon versions of famous comic strips like Popeye and Son, and Beetle Bailey. The Hearst family’s media empire called Hearst Corp., includes newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations, and stakes in cable networks ESPN, Lifetime, and A&E. Their ESPN stake is worth more than $11 billion. Their family owned castle; the Hearst Castle, is located in San Simeon, California, which the state paid the Hearst’s $95 million to preserve in 2005.
