Amanda Weir sped through the pool in Athens at the 2004 Olympic Games capturing Silver medals in the 400m Medley and 400m Freestyle relays. One of the premiere female sprint freestylers in the United States, Amanda is no stranger to international competition. She has earned 9 World Championship medals (both long course and short course), as well as 2 gold medals in the Pan American Games. Her speed and hard work made her a top finalist at the 2008 USA Olympic Trials. Amanda Weir was part of the world record-setting 400m medley relay team at the 2009 MOO Duel in the pool, and she placed second in the 50m and 100m freestyle at the 2009 U.S. Nationals. In 2011, Amanda earned a gold medal as part of the 4×100 medley relay at the Fina World Championships in Shanghai.
Amanda started young, swimming in her first Olympic Games at age 18. She is always a threat for multiple medals at any international competition and could be one of the most medaled female athletes of all time when all is said and done. She stays busy through training to compete in the 2012 London Olympics. Out of the pool, Amanda pursues her passion of fashion design. She has a long-term contract with apparel company, TYR, and works closely with the TYR design department for unparalleled professional experience.
