Singer, songwriter and Celebrity Speaker Clay Aiken burst onto the music scene in 2003 by appearing in the second season of American Idol. He has since launched nine tours and recorded five albums with RCA Records, including his multi-platinum album Measure of a Man. Following his album success in 2003, Aiken made his first Broadway appearance in the Monty Python hit, Spamalot. Aiken also wrote the best-selling book entitled Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life and appeared on the comedy television series Scrubs. In 2014, Clay ran for Congress in North Carolina’s 2nd congressional district.
In addition to his endless musical success, singer Clay Aiken has become known for his activism and philanthropy. In 2003 Aiken created the National Inclusion Project, earn a position as a UNICEF ambassador in 2004, and served a two-year term to the Presidential Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities in 2006. During his time with Spamelot on Broadway, Aiken dedicated his time to raising money for AIDS benefits and Human Rights campaigns. In 2007, Clay Aiken earned the National Center for Learning Disabilities’ Children’s Advocacy Award for his work with children.
