All star Chef Angelo Sosa has trained under world-class chefs since the beginning of his culinary career. His first mentor was celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten for whom Sosa worked in several restaurants as his Executive Sous Chef. From there, he went on to work with acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse in his restaurant Spoon Food & Wine where he became the first American to receive the honor of creating a special seasonal menu for the Parisian restaurant.
Chef Sosa’s television career began in 2010 when season seven of Top Chef: DC aired on Bravo. Angelo competed against sixteen chefs throughout the series, beating all but two chefs, tying celebrity Chef Ed Cotton for second place in the finale. Both were defeated by Top Chef winner Kevin Sbraga. Judges for the season were celebrity chefs Tom Colicchio, Padma Lakshmi, Gail Simmons, and Eric Ripert. Throughout the season, Chef Angelo had the opportunity to cook for critically acclaimed celebrity chef guest judges like Anthony Bourdain, Marcus Samuelsson, Michelle Bernstein, Rick Moonen, and Jose Andres. Angelo competed in Top Chef All-Stars immediately following where he competed against past Top Chef contestants including notable chefs Carla Hall, Fabio Viviani, Spike Mendelsohn, and Top Chef All-Star winner, Richard Blais. Sosa has also been featured on television shows Big Morning Buzz Live with Carrie Keagan and Home & Family.
Angelo Sosa is also a restaurateur, with two restaurants in New York, Social Eatz which is located in Midtown Manhattan, Añejo Tequileria in Hell’s Kitchen, and his Las Vegas restaurant, Poppy Den. In 2012, Angelo released his cookbook, Flavor Exposed: 100 Global Recipes from Sweet to Salty, Earthy to Spicy. The book received several rave reviews from culinary experts including Andrew Zimmern, Masaharu Morimoto, Gail Simmons, and Fine Cooking magazine.
