Adrian Peterson

In 2007, sports speaker Adrian Peterson was selected by the Vikings as the overall seventh pick in the NFL Draft after playing football at the University of Oklahoma. During his time at Oklahoma, Adrian set the NCAA freshman rushing record with 1,925 yards as a true freshman. He was a first team All-American who became the first freshman to finish as the runner-up in the Heisman Trophy award behind quarterback Matt Leinart.

In Adrian’s first pro season, he set an NFL record for most rushing yards in a single game (296) and was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. As the Pro Bowl MVP, he became only the fifth player in NFL history to have more than 3,000 yards through his first two seasons. According to NFL.com, Adrian Peterson was ranked as the third best player in the NFL for the 2011 season, behind Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. In 2013, Adrian Peterson became the third fastest player to reach 10,000 rushing yards in NFL history. He also achieved the number one spot on the NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2013.
