Journalist Speaker Brooke Baldwin is a reputable TV journalist and news anchor for CNN. She is currently the host of CNN Newsroom weekdays from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Based in New York, Brooke has a polished resume as both a field reporter and prominent desk anchor. In January of 2016, Brooke was hired to moderate a Q&A between Mark Cuban and Shaquille O’Neal as part of the Sports Business Forum at CES 2016.
Journalist Speaker Brooke Baldwin’s colorful career began following her graduation from one of the top liberal arts schools in the country, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining the team at CNN in 2008, Brooke served as a lead reporter for several local news stations in Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area. She covered the 2007 shooting massacre at Virginia Tech while working with D.C.’s prominent local newscast, WTTG.
In 2008, Brooke was part of the CNN team that earned a Peabody Award for their coverage of the 2008 Presidential Election. In her early days at CNN, Brooke created her own #MusicMonday series interviewing music artists that was eventually turned into a weekly half-hour special on the network. Before earning her place behind the desk of CNN Newsroom, Brooke reported on major breaking news stories including the 2011 oil spill disaster, the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting and the Boston marathon bombing. In 2014, Brooke was nominated for an Emmy Award for her reporting on the NYC chokehold death protests.
In September of 2015, Journalist Speaker Brooke Baldwin hosted an historic town hall on Guns in America at George Mason University. This invitation-only town held between 40 individuals who have been affected by gun violence and President Obama hoped to further the conversation on how to handle the ongoing gun issues in our country today.
